TCA CHEMICAL PEEL

Here is the good news about aggressive chemical peels– they truly do shrink  pores, soften and or eliminate fine lines,  and remove sunspots and freckles.  It actually is amazing to see the results of a deep chemical peel.  No matter  how many derma planes, microdermabrasions, or mild peels I have endured,  my skin has never regained the youthful dewy look of my earlier years.  Coupled with years of sun abuse, my skin definitely looked weathered and I looked my age.  My brilliant doctor (Aex Khadavi 818-5282500) promised me that I would worship the results of the TCA peel.  He mentioned that I would be out of commission for a good 7 to 10 days.  Book it immediately, I begged, knowing that my husband would be out of town for the next week.  The big day came and wouldn’t you know it that one of my friends had booked a botox appointment at the same time.  I convinced her to come sit with me as the acid was applied to my face.  The peel was applied with a cotton pad and it was only moments before the stinging began.   I was brave but eventually the discomfort got to me and my hands and feet began flailing.   Together the nurse and doctor neutralized my face and rinsed it with a refreshing saline solution.  Ah, relief!    The skin immediately began to frost and turn pale white which was then followed by a crisp sunburned appearance.  What I was not expecting was for my freckles to come out with a vengeance and remain dark until the skin actually began to peel.  I was given my after care instructions and off I went.  For several days after the procedure,  I was required to saturate my face in a deep hydrating moisturizing gel and slather up in a highly concentrated zinc sunblock.   I absolutely was forbidden to leave the house without a ridiculously, massive sunhat.  Being that I am a married girl and that my husband is a sure thing, I decided that I was going to live my life and not sequester myself indoors.    The days went on and I kept sending daily pictures of my peeling and swollen face to my husband and friends.  The skin began to get stiff, crackly, and brown.  (BEWARE– The worst part was not being able to pull and tug at the loose skin as there was risk of scarring.   I must confess that I may have cheated and helped the skin fall to the ground. )   I decided to go out to dinner friday night at a dark restaurant.  In fact, my husband could not believe that I would actually go out with the state of my face and even challenged me to sit at the bar and see how much positive attention I could get.  Ha Ha Ha.  The next morning, I ventured to my son’s soccer game in the blistering heat and overheard my sons’s friend telling his mother never to do to her  face what I had done to mine.  It is now six days since the peel application and most of the dead skin has peeled off.  What remains is a face as pure and flawless as snow white (with a tinge of a sunburn.)  My nose and cheeks are sunspot free.  My pores are miniscule.  The area under my chin seems to be the last to peel and heal due to the movement of my mouth.  Needless to say, I am thrilled with the results.  The “I might not have to wear foundation during the day” me was worth the discomfort and I will do the TCA peel again when needed.
