Yeah right, a sausage bursting out of casing is more like it. With summer comes the need to purchase a fresh snowy white pair of jeans. Whether cropped, skinny, stretchy or crisp, sporting dark inky colored jeans is a faux pas during the warm months (at least for me.) However, for many people it is tough to find a flattering pair of white jeans. Not everyone can look like Ali Macgraw in the beach scene in LOVE STORY. So I started taking a poll. Whenever I would see somebody wearing an interesting pair of white jeans, I would inquire and rush to the store to try them on. Recently, I was at my son’s T-Ball game and there was a girl wearing a flattering pair of white jeans with a white Lacoste. Jean Crush! I had to run out to buy those jeans. I thought I had solved my dilemma quickly and affordably. They were the skinny stretch crop from GAP and I looked bottom heavy to say the least. I then attempted the jeans at J Crew, same thing. The thighs looked thundering. As I was getting dressed each day in my fall colored (grey, camel, and dark wash) jeans, I was feeling frustrated. The temperature was rising and I lwas resembling the fall cover for Vogue Magazine. The summer Hampton look, although I spend the better part of my days in The San Fernando valley, is what I was striving for. Finally, I blocked out a few hours of my day and cruised to Bloomingdales which has a large section devoted to white jeans only. I went solo as I am my own toughest critic and I did not need a friend rushing me. I selected close to 20 pairs, brought them to the dressing room, and hunkered down until I found the perfect pair. What is perplexing about denim is that even though a particular brand of denim is touted as your go to brand, not every cut by the designer is flattering. For example, I recently discovered the Citizens of Humanity slick skinny jean. Normally, Citizens were not my jean of choice as I preferred the cut of J Brand.. They have become my current go to jean. Alas, I tried on the white version of my favorite J Brand and Citizens cuts. No go! I looked like a sausage on the verge of bursting out of its casing. Finally, with a heap of jeans on the floor of the dressing room… I found my “money” pair. The soft skinny yet stretch pair of white jeans by SIWY was the one for me. I purchased two pairs and checked white jeans to purchase off of my to do list. Now all I will have to worry about is keeping the jeans sparkling white.
A VISION IN WHITE

I am very partial to my Tory Burch skinny white jeans from last summer and they look great both rolled with cute wedges or worn long with flip flops.
love the visuals of the whole situation!! i love my AG white jeans – but they are wide bottom – is that sooooooo last season (or dare I say 2 seasons ago)?!?! I don’t care, I’m sticking w/them.
