Rumor has it, LA is finally catching up to NYC when it comes to art and culture. I am here to say, the rumors are true. Last week, we took the kids to see Art In The Streets at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA downtown. It was the perfect Saturday or Sunday outing. A smorgasboard of graffiti and street art, specifically the first major historical exposition to be organized by an American museum. Think early 1970′s, wild NYC style, cholo gang graffiti in East LA and surf and skate culture in Venice Beach. Run – don’t walk to see it.
