The Featured Slice: Alison Pincus Co-Founder, One Kings Lane ,shares some of her favorite picks with us. Not only is she a friend but an inspiration and the genius behind One Kings Lane – our go to for all things interior and design.

What is your Favorite Coffee Table Book?
I don’t have one favorite – I have so many! I covet art & design books, and I am constantly buying new books. This week, for example, I am placing an order for Jeffrey Bilhuber, Martin Lawrence Bullard, Celerie Kemble, Katie Ridder, and David Kleinberg’s new books. Books inspire me. And with regards to design, a book is a wonderful way to see a designer’s aesthetic, style and approach.

What SYMBOL best represents you?
Well, I think two symbols best represent me: a happy face & the exclamation point. I particularly love adding a simple (☺) to my emails. I am always impressed by the intricate faces that some people place on their emails. Since I’m very enthusiastic, I tend to over do it on (!).

Favorite denim brand:
I am still obsessed with my JBrands (skinnys!). But, I am also loving my Mother jeans and jean shorts. I’m looking for some great cords for the Fall. Any suggestions?

Favorite online shopping:
One Kings Lane! It’s my forever destination for great gifts, personal accessories (stationery, totes, etc.) and furniture.

Item you wouldn’t check in baggage because you can’t live without:
My crock Smythson jewelery case. A dear friend gave it to me, and it includes special pieces my husband gave to me.


What quality do you most admire in others?
Integrity.

Who is your style icon?
Daphne Guinness

One person living your dead you would like to have tea with?
Golda Meir – she was Israel’s fourth Prime Minister and I’m amazed by what she accomplished.

Be prepared and be on time. And always do your homework!

Best personal advice given to you:
Keep your priorities straight – it’s your most important job. Make sure you are who your daughters seek love from. Make sure your husband is happy. Make sure YOU are happy.
