The other day as I was driving along Montana Avenue, I noticed a black and white Zig Zag patterned bike perched against a bike rack. Don’t worry- it was locked (tight!) Before I could even process what I was doing, I pulled over to get an up close look at The Missoni Bike that was part of the Target Collaboration. If you remember, I had no luck acquiring any items of the collection (except for a few bobby pins and a suitcase-courtesy of some very loyal friends) despite staying awake for most of the night. Sour grapes or not, I am glad that I didn’t spend tons of money on many of the items that I now see saturating everywhere. However, the Missoni bike had piqued my interest! AND, drum roll please, it did not disappoint! I inspected the bike on Montana Avenue and it was gorgeous. The basket alone made me smile. And YES, it does have gear shifts, a crucial fact that was not made clear in the Target description. Missoni is not the first fashion company to design a bike. In fact, the trend is catching on. Lilly Pulitzer has been offering a colorful floral inspired version for quite some time. Urban Outiftters will be offering a “bespoke” opportunity to design your own bike. Pick a color, pick a frame etc. Hurry up Prada and Dolce. I could see myself surrendering to a leopard bicycle. The good news: bicycles are making a comeback. Don’t forget the helmets designers and riders. Helmets provide yet another opportunity to make a design impression. Those Zig Zags would be hard to miss on somebody’s head. Chop Chop!

Digging the Kate Spade. That is one fantastic green.
