NO MORE TURTLENECKS: THE NECK LIFT

The other day, I had the pleasure of lunching with a dear friend and her oh so elegant and glamorous mother who was visiting from New York.  Over arugula salads and pomodoro soup, I found myself staring at her ageless face. Although she always looked flawless to me, something was different.  Perplexed and comfortable enough to inquire, I learned that the Mrs. had undergone a neck lift.  She was so thrilled with the surgeon’s work that she was ready to shout it to the world. (By the way, I hate when people have clearly undergone some sort of work or injection and flat out DENY it!)  I mean- look at me, do you think I would even try to pretend to people that I have never had a drop of juvederm placed in my lips?  Back to my friend’s vision of a mother: The neck lift was subtle yet truly magical in it’s result.  The surgeon’s delicate hands softly sculpted an appropriately smoother neck.  Her neck was not pulled tight to the point where her head looked rigidly placed on a stone pedestal.  She begged to show me her scars which were impossible for me to see. Even if I had whipped out a magnifying glass, I would be hard pressed to find the faint line which she claimed was somewhere near the back of her ear.  So here’s the moral of the story, neck lifts do make a difference on the outward appearance but it is the inside feeling of self-confidence that has made the Mrs. so elated that she would have literally jumped on the restaurant table (her make-shift mountain top) to proclaim her joy.  She had a new piece of armor in her battle against age.  Any curious sippers as to who the wizard is behind her neck lift?
