SIPPING IN THE NEW YEAR

Happy New Year, Sippers!  I can not believe it is already 2012.  Where are the years going?  Last night as Husband and I were drifting off to sleep, we were watching DATELINE and the murder they were exploring had been committed in 1985. I was in seventh grade …..  So here I sit at the computer, morning coffee in a Lilly Pulitzer mug with the words “lead a colorful life” at my side, pontificating on the upcoming year.  I am excited and ready. The slate is cleaned, the boys are en route to school, and Husband and his cleanse drinks have left the premises.  I could lie and tell you that I am excited to exercise today as it has been two weeks. What’s another day more?  But it matters, the resolutions are fresh and the excuses won’t work.  One of my goals this year is to learn to enjoy cooking.  The problem is every time I tell my family about my cooking goals, they roar with laughter.  Last night, I decided to make pasta.  (I know, get crazy.)  I slyly threw in a few sprinkles of truffle salt hoping the kids would prefer MY pasta skills.  Little one took a bite and spit it out, older sensitive one forced several bites down his throat and pretended he liked it.  Husband refused to even take a bite.  I love my men!  There is always tomorrow. Pork chops and applesauce anyone?
